Description
309 - 253/432 a R9 NGC MS64 RB 40% Red and nearly Proof Like obverse with nice light toning. Exceedingly rare muling of 1864 Yngenio Ecuador with No Compromise With Traitors struck in Copper. The obverse was originally used to make tokens here in the US for use in Cuba, but was muled during the war with six different Civil War token dies each exceedingly rare. We sold an NGC MS63 example of the equally rare 253/295 mp for $3,050 in our January 2016 sale. From the Mark Glazer, Larking Wilson and George Fuld collections. The Plate Specimen in Fuld's 1959 Patriotic Book and likely all other editions except the most current though because of poor photos except for the actual photographic plates on the 1959 edition it is difficult to tell for sure. (3000-4000)
