290 - OH520A-1d R9 NGC MS64 60% Bright quite nice for grade. A. E. Griffin Dentist Marion, Ohio 1863 struck in Copper Nickel with false teeth on the obverse. Very rare variety, a PCGS example of the much more available R -2a variety realized $938.89 in our February 2021 auction. From the Lumberton, Steve Tanenbaum and Herman Aqua collections in January 1981. This is the current Fuld Plate specimen for the merchant. (1500-2000)
