179 - MI745C-1a R6 NGC MS65 BN Trace Red very flashy with needle sharp strike and very attractive toning. Very nice for the grade and almost unimaginably nice for this notoriously poorly made and poorly preserved merchant. A. Sherman & Co. General Merchants and Proprietors of Flouring Mills, Paw Paw Michigan 1863. Very scarce Indiana Primitive merchant, very rare in high grade. This is the only Uncirculated graded example at NGC or PCGS, a truly historic opportunity. A reasonably well struck Raw AU sold for $358 in our May 2022 eBay sale.
