170 - MI450I-1b R10 NGC MS62 Trace Bright and nice for the grade. D. H. Lord & Co. Dealers In Boot, Shoes & c., Hillsdale Michigan 1863 struck in Brass and Unique as such. Very rare obverse die featuring oval denticles, unique in the Gleason series. This is the discovery token. From the Tom Reed and Wayne Stafford collections, earlier from our August 2015 sale where it realized $1,200 and even earlier from Heritage's April 2013 sale, both times still in an NGC holder called MI450I-1a as this Brass example was unlisted at the time of certification. It has since been reholdered as a MI450I-1b. (1000-1500)
