152 - KY510J-1f NV PCGS MS63 30% Bright with attractive toning. Quite nice for the grade. H. Preissler Soda Water, Louisville Kentucky with unusual reverse die featuring crossed arrows and signed M. Miller & Co. Louisville Kentucky struck in Silver. Although called R9 in the second edition of the Store Card book there was some doubt it existed in Silver as there are a number of Silver-Plated Copper examples exist that could have confused previous catalogers. It was decided to label it NV, Not Verified, in the third edition. It can now be verified after residing in a very advanced Kentucky collection for many decades. Finding Unlisted Civil War Store Cards has become more challenging with the release of the third edition but finding a Not Verified is much more difficult. Rare merchant, we sold a PCGS AU58 example of the much more available R7 -1a variety for $1,500 in our December 2022 catalog sale. From the Jerry Schaeper collections, purchased April 1987.
