138 - IN710A-2a R7 NGC MS64 BN 20% Red more so on the obverse with fairly large planchet clip mint error. Quite attractive and impressive. A. M. Davis Dry Goods, Groceries, Crockery, Drugs & c., New Paris Indiana 1863. Indiana Primitive. Rare single merchant town, an NGC AU55 brought $2,000 in our December 2022 auction, this special piece should bring more but not everyone will appreciate such a major error on such a rare token. From the Wayne Stafford collection, earlier from Rossa and Tanenbaum in 1982. (2000-3000)
