471 - MILLER PA 57 NGC MS62 Trace Bright. Bridesburg Barrel Manufacturer, Philadelphia Pennsylvania 10 counterstamped as denomination. Struck in Brass with a Plain edge and featuring a wooden barrel. Bridesburg is a neighborhood in Philadelphia and the tokens were listed as early at 1858. Always considered very rare, Miller assigned a value of $200 in FINE condition way back in 1962. We sold a Brighter NGC MS62 example of the 20 denomination for $777 in our February 2021 sale. From the Don Partrick collection, earlier from Bowers and Ruddy June 1974 auction at $182.50 including Dorge representation commission. (500-750)
