Description
432 - MILLER NY 42 NGC MS63 30% Bright. Herr Alexander From His Friend In New York 1847 in Gilt Brass with Plain edge. NGC's label calls this NY 42A indicating a Thin planchet but this appears to be of normal thickness. Alexander was a Magician and his tokens are quite popular. Dies were cut by Charles Cushing Wright and signed C.C.W. on the obverse. In part due to the high relief, this token is very rarely seen in Uncirculated condition. We sold a Raw similarly bright AU+ example in our February 2014 auction that realized $229.99. From the Don Partrick collection, earlier PCAC November 1979 sale. (500-750)
