431 - C. HORN / GROCER / 304 W. 16 ST. / N.Y. on obverse of 1862 Cent. Raw VF Coin VG. Rulau places this New York City merchant squarely in the Civil War era citing 1863 and 1864 directory evidence, however, the current Store Card book disputes this and places it in its Do Not List Section. Very rare merchant regardless being one of just three known on a Copper Nickel Cent with two additional pieces known on Large Cents. This is the Plate Specimen for both Brunk and Rulau. Rulau NY 2204. From the Q. David Bowers, Steve Tanenbaum and Roy Van Ormer collections earlier from Bowers & Merena's September 1985 sale. (200-300)
