Description

367 - PA750V-7a Unlisted Raw EF Details Appears to be a copper plated lead copy. Uniformly and finely porous with smooth edge that has marks and some lighter colored medal showing through. N. & G. Taylor Co. Stamped & Japanned Ware Metals, Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Large 37mm token with George Washington and very rare reverse die without the word Files. Unlisted in Copper, Unique in Brass and perhaps only two or three known in White Metal. Hard to imagine how or why this copy was created given the extreme rarity of the reverse die, a puzzle from a merchant with a number of very rare and interesting pieces. From the Dave Bowers collection. Data: 200°, 229 grains, 38.2 mm. (100-150)
