351 - J. DEMERITT on obverse of 1865 Cent Raw EF Coin EF. John Demeritt had a cutler and gunsmith business in Montpelier Vermont from 1865 to 1896. Apparently one of just five known examples from this merchant with the latest dated 1867. Two of these are on large cents include City and State. From the Dave Bowers and Steve Tanenbaum collections.
