291 - PARISIAN / VARIETIES / 16. St & B'WAY. N. Y. on the obverse of an 1873-CC Arrows Seated Half Dollar NGC VF25 Coin VF, counterstamp EF. According to Rulau Parisian Varieties was an erotic show of nubile young ladies in 1875 and 1876. This counterstamp is known on a number of different Half Dollars making for a challenging collection by date and mint mark. The present example would likely be the key of such a set as it is unlisted in Rulau and coin alone carries a 2014 Red Book value of $975. Miller 627 Rulau NY NY 230 From the John J.
