87 - KY-01-50B R9 NGC MS65 10% Bright mostly on reverse with attractive toning and luster. Simmonds Battery, J. M. Kerr Sutler struck in Brass. Simmonds Battery was also known as the 1st Kentucky Independent Battery. We sold a raw AU of the slightly more available R8 Copper variety for $406 in our March 2010 sale. Formerly NL M-50B. From the Steve Tanenbaum and Dave Schenkman collections earlier from George Fuld. (1500-2000)
