Merriam Die Sinker Medals Struck In Gold, Silver, Copper Or Tin, Boston Massachusetts with Thomas Sayers Champion Of England 1859 reverse struck in Copper 31mm. Sayers was a very popular boxer from an era when it was still illegal and before the use of gloves. He had a famous 37 round fight with John Heenan (also a Merriam subject) in 1860.
