519 - LOW 283 / HT-324 R6 NGC MS61 BN Squire & Merritt Ship Chandlers and Rope Makers, New York. A very confusing merchant to attribute with many die and sub varieties. Adding to the confusion Rulau's listing and spacing where the descriptions of the varieties proceed the listing rather than follow it as in other sections of his book. This is die combination 3-B with a Reeded edge and no counterstamp. Quite rare in Uncirculated condition, a NGC MS62 sold for $750 in our February 2014 sale. From the Maurice Shepherd collection.
