300 - OH165FX-11a R8 NGC MS63 RB 40% Red. John Stanton Manufacturer of Store Cards, Stencils, Stamps & Brands Cincinnati Ohio with reverse bust believed to be of Stanton himself. Stanton was one of the most prolific minters of Civil War tokens, most of which feature an Indian Head reverse to mimic regular US Mint Cents and consequently increase acceptance. From the Dr. W. Stokes Houck III, Francis Toth and Henry South collections, earlier from PCAC October 1970 and our February 25th 2014 weekly auction where is realized $625. (750-1000)
