196 - MA260A-2e R9 Raw MS62 60% Bright with small planchet clip. E. P. Francis City Hotel Billiard Room, Fall River Massachusetts struck in White Metal. This very rare variety is the first we have seen offered. Formerly listed as a separate merchant as RI700B-1e, this is its current designation in the new Civil War Store Card book because it combines the reverse of the E. P. Francis -1a with a reverse die 1374 formally thought of as an exclusively Rhode Island die. A MS64 example of the equally rare -2d brought $804 in our December 2012 auction.
