43 - 125/432 ao R8 Raw EF Details With some short old scratches on each side. Struck over another token likely 107/432. 1864 Lincoln No Compromise With Traitors. Very rare Patriotic struck over another Patriotic. This piece was misstruck in some way resulting is six obverse stars where Lincoln would normally be spelled out. Opposite on the reverse is an arc shaped blank area though traces of a leaf and berry can seen with effort. We suspect the under type is a 107/432 because of the oddly shaped crude stars that match those used on die 107 and little else, the planchet stock is the same as that used on 107/432 and of course the combinations share the reverse and were made at the same mint. This die combination is unlisted with any under types and all Patriotics over Patriotics are very rare. A normally struck VF brought $231 in our June 2011 sale. (500-750)
