586 - GMcC 1864-06 Cu Raw MS65 Very sharp and quite attractive. Major General George B. McClellan U.S. Army (around bust left within wreath signed F.B. Smith. F.) // The Union & Constitution One & Indivisible (around eagle on shield holding snake with long fangs and forked tongue also signed F. B. Smith. F. N.Y.). Very scarce with obverse portrait very similar to Patriotic die 138 in the Civil War token series. Reverse is quite unusual and very well executed. Copper 34mm. An EF or better with a few light marks brought $165 in our July 2012 auction. (400-500)
