548 - MILLER NY 966 Raw MS65 40% Red and Proof Like. Wm. P. Woodcock Butcher, New York struck in Copper with Reeded edge. Popular token with reverse picture of a woodcock in a mountain valley setting and Butcher's tools on the obverse. Much scarcer in Copper than White Metal. A White Metal example in MS62 realized $330 in our July 2014 auction. From the Steve Tanenbaum and Max Schwartz collections earlier from Jon Harris May 1978. (500-750)
