404 - A, & G. WELLES in raised letters in rectangular punch twice intersecting with four (Eagles) in oval punches on the obverse of an 1803 Large Cent. Raw FINE+ Coin GOOD retoning with some tape residue on reverse. Attributed to Boston by Russ Rulau as the issue of Alfred and George Welles who were jewelers and silversmiths in that city from 1804 to 1827. Rulau Early MA 22 From the Dave Bowers reference set.
