370 - LU V-1g Unlisted Raw VF Details With some light marks and 40% or more original Copper plating. Day's New Card with Time is Money Exigency 1863 reverse struck in Copper plated Lead. Known and considered a Civil War token for quite some time. Formerly called Patriotic 187/476 g it is now thought to be a Store Card though omitted from the new Third Edition. Likely the product of the maker of contemporary counterfeit 187/214, in this case making a crude store card with a backwards D in Card. We sold a similar example in our December 2000 as SNL 12g that realized $475.77. From the Henry South collection earlier from PCAC's June 1988 sale. (300-400)
