350 - WI510 Q-1a R7 Raw VF Details But covered with a fairly thick layer of dark residue. It is brown underneath including the tops of letters and designs resulting in nice detail. T. W. Hart Supt. M.W.M. Plank Road Company. At one time there was talk of moving this token to Wauwatosa creating a new Wisconsin town for Civil War tokens. Ray Callan's research published in The Civil War Token Journal showed that the Madison, Watertown & Milwaukee Plank Road Company had its office in Milwaukee at the corner of Main and Mason. Although Mr. Hart was from Wauwatosa, the President, Secretary and Treasurer of the company were all Milwaukee businessmen while he was Superintendent. An EF with a short scratch and light hairlines realized $1,343.10 in our March 2008 auction. (750-1000)
