471 - LOW 181 / HT-399 R6 Raw EF+ Charler W. Bender Philadelphia 1842 struck in German Silver. Brender was the proprietor of the Star Hotel at 71 Dock Street. Very rare merchant. An example in VF from our July 2007 sale realized $2,400. From the Steve Tanenbaum, Michael Zeddies and Virgil Brand collections earlier from Bowers and Merena's March 1990 sale. (3000-4000)
