Description
490 - LOW 268 / HT-302 R7 NGC AU50 Edwin Parmele Bowling Saloon with well dressed gentleman holding a wine glass on the reverse with his motto Quite Comfortable. Very rare merchant with most of the five known examples damaged. One of the nicer examples is a nice VF but with a large punch mark, it sold for $4,400 in PCAC's June 1996 sale, sold again by PCAC in November 2006 for a fairly shocking $21,850 and finally failed to sell in Stacks sale of the Dice & Hicks collection in July 2008 with a starting bid of $13,800. This example is much nicer, is the finest certified and likely the second finest of just five known. From the John Ford collection earlier from Joe Levine June 1977. (16000-24000)
