470 - LOW 153 / HT-305 R1 EF Details Triple struck obverse die trial over 1841 Large Cent. Abraham Riker, New York with boots and shoes pictured. A unique die trial over a US Cent, the reverse is flattened from the multiple striking while the obverse is fairly nice with Liberty's profile plainly visible. Though we could find no date, Large Cent specialist Bob Grellman has determined not only is this an 1841 Cent it is the Newcomb 7 variety for that year. An important find. From the Steve Tanenbaum collection earlier from Chris Victor McCawley. (500-750)
