Description
403 - J. T. SMITH on the obverse of an 1868 Two Cent Piece. EF Coin FINE. A Joseph T. Smith a Jeweler of Schuylerville New York is thought to have issued these counterstamps and is listed as such in Brunk and Rulau. One other possibility is the J. T. Smith also a Jeweler of Whitewater Wisconsin who issued a Civil War token as well. And given they have the same occupation, perhaps they are the same person. (50-75)
