556 - DR. G. G. WILKINS with a curved punch on the obverse of an 1863 Patriotic Civil War token 180/341 a. EF Token VF. George Wilkins was a dentist in Pittsfield New Hampshire. It is interesting the stamp was placed above the rider F. Sigel where the motto The Hero Of Pea Ridge is normally found. This is the first Wilkins stamped Civil War token we have seen, though Brunk list two and he was such a prolific issuer there are likely others. (300-400) See pictures.
