552 - J. H. STIGERS. On the obverse of an 1826 Large Cent. VF Coin VG with some obverse cuts and porous with green residue. An excellent research opportunity for this as yet unidentified stamp. The latest dated coin known for this stamp is 1831 indicating it could very well be from the Hard Times period. Additionally, though it is unclear to us if the first initial is an I or a J, neither has been noted before as it has always been listed simply as H. Stigers. This is the same stamp just more carefully centers, hopefully this additional initial will prove the key to unlocking a mystery. (50-75)
