547 - EL in raised letters on the obverse of Hard Times token Low 132 / HT-195. EF Coin VF or so but abrasively cleaned with many scratches. The consignor placed a tentative attribution on the piece as the stamp of Elijah Lincoln (1794-1861) of Hingham Massachusetts a Silversmith who was active 1818-33. Though this piece post dates his known active years the stamp does resemble the illustration in Ensko's American Silversmiths and Their Marks and would seem to place this piece squarely in the Hard Times period.
