535 - J. A. BOLEN four times on the front and back of an 1851 Large Cent. EF Coin AU but retoning from an old cleaning. Bolen was a famous engraver from Springfield Massachusetts. It is thought that most if not all of these counterstamps were made from an original Bolen punch after his death in 1907. Rulau Ma Sp 10 Brunk B-830 From the Steve Tanenbaum collection. (200-300)
