Description
394 - OH165AD-1a R8 VF Consulere Generi Hominum Ho Hi Wang B.C. 129374 with 1864 Indian Head reverse. A very interesting and mysterious token. Long attributed to Cincinnati Ohio, where it was made, it will now be listed in the non local section of the next Store Card book. Fuld states this is assumed to be a magician's satirical piece and is listed as MT222 by Kuethe in the Magicians' Tokens book. An 1877 Cogan catalog indicated it was "a poke at collectors". If the mystery is ever unlocked it will likely increase the desirability of this token even more. Much scarcer than the following and just the fourth we have seen offered. (200-300)
