Description
393 - OH165 Ya-3b Unlisted MS64 20% Bright. M. A. Cohn 68 West 6th Street Cincinnati 50. Formerly listed as Adams / Miller MO 5 and more recently as Rulau OH 190, it is now known based on the research of John Ostendorf to have been issued by Mendle A.
Cohn of Cincinnati who operated a coffeehouse in 1863 and will be so listed in the new Store Card book. An exceedingly rare merchant, neither Adams or Miller listed the denomination and Rulau only lists a 5 Cent denomination valuing it at $1,000 even when
it was though to be a pre-Civil War token. The Tanenbaum collection had a 5 and 10 Cent. From the John Ford collection from Max Schwartz in January 1955. In a NGC holder graded MS64. (1500-2000) See pictures.
