863 - MILLER PA 285 1/2 A MS63 Attractively toned and nearly Proof Like. Ornamental Medal & Seal Die Sinker & c. & c. 329 Arch St. Phila with small letters within large KEY with Cedar Mountain To Reams Station 28 Battles struck in Silver with Plain edge. The two Civil War battles listed took place in Virginia 8/9/1862 and 8/25/1864, we are unsure if the other 26 battles referred to were also in Virginia or chronicle the fate of a particular person or military unit. Unlisted in this combination in Miller and Rulau and completely unlisted in Adams. From the Ron Ward collection earlier from PCAC's December 1989 and June 1994 sales. (750-1000)
