628 - HT-108D R9 EF On a VG or better 1830 US Large Cent. COLLINS & CO / HARTFORD / CAST-STEEL / WARRANTED in alternating single punches on the obverse and H. MORTON on the reverse. Samuel L. Collins, Daniel C. Collins and William Watts built a axe factory
in Hartford Connecticut in 1826, the first in the US per Brunk. Presently considered to be Unique, the only example noted in Rulau or Brunk. From the Steve Tanenbaum collection, earlier from Bowers and Merena's April 1997 auction. (1000-1500)
