429 - PA750W-1do R10 AU+ Trace Bright. Union Volunteer Refreshment Saloon Second Annual Fair 1863 struck over an 1863 Copper Nickel Indian Head Cent and believed to be Unique. Struck with great pressure and no collar resulting in the Cent being stretched to 20.5mm, still considerable detail and full date are visible. This is the Fuld plate specimen used to illustrate both sides of PA750W-1. To our knowledge this is the only Over Cent from Philadelphia and in fact the only one in Pennsylvania outside Honesdale, giving new meaning to the work Unique. From the Steve Tanenbaum, Ray Byrne, Jon Harris and George Fuld collections earlier from Hank Spangenberger January 1983. (1000-1500)
