271 - MI530C-4a R9 MS60 Details with 10% original red mint luster mainly on the reverse and two verdigris spots at rims. Struck from rusted dies as usual. Davis & Bates, Kalamazoo. Very rare die variety with Childs' Arm and Hammer reverse 1390, one of just three examples we have recorded. An EF sold for $661.34 in our December 2006 sale. Missing from the Tanenbaum collection. From the Cliff Temple collection earlier from James Kelley December 20th 1941 for $0.40. (400-500)
