261 - MI450L-4a R9 EF But reverse retoning from cleaning with verdigris stains. Mott & Bro. Druggists, Hillsdale. Rare and unusual mule of Childs of Chicago obverse die with a Gleason of Hillsdale reverse die. The obverse die apparently being retained by the Childs customer and later pressed into service again by the hometown Gleason mint. This is the seventh example we have seen offered. A VF with residues brought $275 in our December 2008 sale. From the Cliff Temple collection earlier from John Canfield January 20th 1974 for $12.50. (300-400)
