Description
264 - NY845A-1b R7 FINE With obverse stain. H. Frantz counterstamped onto obverse of a D. Skidmore Seneca Falls, New York token. Frantz was the subsequent owner of the Hotel and stamped a number of the prior tokens signifying the change in ownership. The
Skidmore token is a favorite of many since it was Good For One (cigar) and pictures a eagle with a cigar in its mouth. This counterstamped variety has been shown to be post Civil War and will not be given a separate merchant listing in the new Store Card book.
From the Norm Peters collection. (100-150)
