Sumner Memorial Token. Take Care Of My Civil Rights Bill (around bust right) // In Memory Of Chas Sumner Born 1811 Died 1874. Brass 19mm MS64 60% Bright. Sumner was a leader in the Anti Slavery movement and was nearly killed on the Senate floor in 1856 by South Carolina Representative Preston Brooks. Quite a bit scarcer than the White Metal variety.
