Description

Civil War token Fuld NY630AQ-1b R8 PCGS MS64 20% Bright with nice luster and attractive toning but unevenly struck with a number of missing stars and letters. Gustavus Lindenmueller New York 1863 with a beer mug pictured struck in Brass. Lindenmueller was a prolific issuer of tokens and legend has it that he refused to redeem a large group and consequently helped bring on the end of the Civil War token era. Still his tokens were larger ( quarter size ) with more copper than nearly all circulating tokens. From the Q. David Bowers collection, earlier from Rossa and Tanenbaum. In a special PCGS holder with Dave's picture and facsimile signature.
