997 - Bolen JAB-20 Lincoln Brockage Raw MS65 90% Bright. Abraham Lincoln obverse brockage of Bolen's With Malice Toward None medal JAB-20 struck in Copper 25mm with Plain 3+mm edge. This very Bolen die still exists and is owned by the consignor of this token. He purchased the die from his friend Steve Tanenbaum who likely obtained it from the Michigan dealer mentioned in Musante. The purchaser was so happy with the transaction that he set out to make a special souvenir striking as a gift. After some consideration he decided to make it a brockage, Steve's favorite error type. Unfortunately fait interview and the creation was never delivered before Steve's untimely death. Although he still owns the die, he has no intention to make another example. (200-300)
