552 - LOW 400E / HT-144 R7 Raw EF Coin AG. HOUCK'S / PANACEA / BALTIMORE in raised letters within a oblong depression. Almost always seen on US Capped Bust Half Dollars, only four known on French 5 Francs and this appears to be the lone example on the Union et Force type (1795-1803). The stamp is particularly bold and evenly struck. We sold a Raw VF example on a more available GOOD Spanish 2 Real for $878 in our June 2013 sale, this should bring much more. From CNG's May 2007 sale where is sold for $977.50 hammer. (1500-2000)
