14 - 9/404 a R9 Raw EF+ Quite well struck and nicely centered for variety. 1863 The Union Must and Shall be Preserved, Jackson. Higgins used this motto on five different dies, each with different ornaments and layout, this is by far the rarest. Exceedingly rare Indiana Primitive reverse die. This is the only use of this die in either the Patriotic or Store Card series. An NGC AU55 realized $2,250 in our January 2016 sale. (2000-3000)
