499 - WS 1852-01 WM PCGS MS62 70% Bright and nearly Proof Like. Major Genl. Winfd. Scott (around military bust left signed Leonard) // A Gallant & Skillful Hero. The Peoples Choice. (around flags and Liberty cap with raised panel listing battles) Chippewa, Lundy's Lane, Vera Cruz & Mexico. White Metal 41mm. Although struck in the same composition as the original, the fact that this piece is not holed and is struck on an extra thick planchet indicates it was struck after the election, around 1860. We sold a similar Raw Nice Uncirculated example on eBay in June 2018 that realized $306.33. (300-400)
