205 - OH165BT-12ao R10 PCGS MS64 RB 20% Red. B. Hempelman Dealer in Groceries & Feed, Cincinnati 1863 within wreath. The obverse has what we call an undulating surface which is normally seen on genuine single die doubleheaders. Study of the reverse reveals eight or more stars from a first strike, likely an Indian Head reverse. No undertype is visible on the obverse as it was likely struck against a blank planchet. When this token was created, a brockage of the obverse die was likely created at the same time. To date, one has not been reported and it may not have escaped Stanton's shop. From the Dave Bowers, Urban Rudner and Virgil Brand collections from Rossa & Tanenbaum, in one of Dave's special holders with picture and facsimile signature. (500-750)
