305 - 232A/403 a R9 PCGS AU58 Our Country 1864 The Union Must & Shall Be Preserved Jackson. Extremely rare obverse die. H. D. Higgins Indiana Primitive version of Scovill's Our Country die 231. Higgins made two distinctly different versions by adding the date 1864 to this die. This is the only use of this die in the Store Card or Patriotic series. Most of the 5 or 6 known have problems. We sold a Raw VF Details example that was a bit porous for $2,400 in our December 2017 sale. From the Dave Bowers collection, earlier from Rossa & Tanenbaum and Bowers & Merena. (6000-8000)
