255 - 38/438 a R9 NGC MS64 RB Trace Red. Phoenician and Mercury heads both signed by Lutz and struck in Copper. Extremely rare Double Header with two very rare Patriotic dies. An NGC MS64 example in Copper Nickel brought $6,684.44 in our March 2008 sale and a raw AU Details cleaned and retoned Copper example sold for $3,250 in our October 2011 auction. The NGC holder states it is the Fuld Plate, but this does not seem to match either plate in any of the editions we compared. From the Mark Glazer, Larkin Wilson, Joe Kuehnert, John Harris and George Fuld collections. (4000-6000)
