102 - NY230A-3a R8 PCGS MS64 RB 40% Red. Louis Strauss & Co. Dry Goods No. 3 Union Block, Elmira New York 1864. Very rare variety, likely underrated at R8. Very difficult to find single merchant town that is quite rare in Uncirculated condition. We sold a Raw MS64 RB example of the more available R7 -2a variety for $236.50 in our December 2005 auction. From the Dave Bowers, Rich Rossa and George Fuld collections. Reverse Die: 1047. (400-500)
