715 - MILLER SC 10 Raw VF+ W. W. Wilbur Auction & Commission Merchant 1846, Charleston South Carolina struck in Copper with Plain Edge. Obverse 3 with Going At Only A Penny and reverse B with short bushy tree. Popular token featuring an auctioneer holding gavel. Thought to be one of the many auction houses that sold slaves during this period. Much rarer in Copper than the Brass version of this die combination. We sold a Raw VF+ example in Copper that brought $265 in our July 2012 sale. (300-400)
